Appearance
Domino has a trim, yet nicely defined frame that he does his best to keep in shape. He has a curly mop of black hair atop his head that he always keeps on the ‘shaggy’ side. He’s been known to flip between a scruff of facial hair when he’s in the mood, or clean shaven- it never normally goes more than a few days without being shaved (When he has a razor). He tends to dress a little bohemian and appears to live on the street. Despite that he tends to be clean and smell nice. Like some after the war he’s a scavenger and uses what he finds as trade. He uses his street look to his advantage because even in a world torn by war people still tend to ignore the homeless.

When shifted he favors small cats as most large cats are scarce and larger animals tend to be hunted for food- hell he’s lucky the families he’s found haven’t decided to have pet cat for dinner. His favors small cat is the black and white Tuxedo cat, but to keep the families from discovering that the same cat has multiple families he also has the Calico and a Bengal cat.

Personality
Like most who were born during the war Domino has been affected by it. He tries to keep a positive attitude about life and the world, and he projects that attitude to those around him. Inside however, he can get hit with bouts of depression and fear. He is very passionate about things and will do anything to protect the people close to him. His passion lead him to join the resistance and his work with them helped him learn how to lie. It’s a practice he hates and only uses when needed, choosing to be truthful about other every day conversations and keeping his political views and his ‘other job’ a secret.

Domino has a charisma about him, which makes him a great performer. Choosing to perform on Pearl Street mostly, he can gather a crowd and lift their spirit with a classic song from a time long forgotten. Most songs he sings are ones he remembers from his childhood before radio and TV for entertainment became extinct, and others are ones he’s picked up from others or scavenging. His charisma also tends to make him trustworthy as he almost always appears to be earnest about things.

Primary – Feline Animorph – Domino can transform into any feline breed he has seen (in real life or in pictures). He cannot shift into anything other than felines. He can maintain the shift for a pretty decent amount of time, his longest time on record being three days. A shift of a few hours doesn’t really have any side effects, but a long shift can be a bit painful when changing back. He can shift between shapes as well, though again, the longer the more strain on his body. He does gain all the abilities of his shifted form. There are some features of this ability that have, over time, ‘stuck’ when he’s not shapeshifted.

Secondary – Matter Manipulation (Limited/Passive) – When Domino shifts, anything he is wearing or holding (must be able to be carried easily or worn, like a backpack) shifts with him. It is as if his body absorbs the matter in such a way that it shifts with him until he shifts back. He cannot prevent something from shifting or manipulate it in any other way.

Secondary – Animal Mimicry – Domino can access some feline aspects when not shapeshifted, these aspects are; excellent balance, enhances sense of smell, sight and hearing.

Secondary – Feline Zoolingualism – As part of Domino’s shifting ability he can also speak with and understand other felines. This is true for all feline species but not other animals.

Thanks to his time in the military, Domino knows how to fire a gun and is trained in hand to hand combat. He also is skilled in fighting in big cat form. He knows how to play the piano and the guitar and sings very well.

Loyal – Domino is loyal to his friends, family and the resistance. Most people know that they can depend on him, and will trust him with things because of that. He will always be the first to jump to someone’s defense or get into a fight in someone’s name so long as they’re a friend. Even if he is a little flighty sometimes.

Ego – The most important person in the room is… Domino, of course. Domino’s favorite person is Domino. This doesn’t mean he won’t notice others or respect them. He just tends to think the earth revolves around him. Even when he’s putting his friends first, it’s because they came to HIM for help because he was the only one who could.

Sexually promiscuous –  Domino is quite quick to take just anyone home (or the bathroom, or the car, or the… you get the idea) for the night without regard to their relationship status or his own. Domino -can- stick with just one person at times, but temptation can be very strong and he’s more than once given in especially with his street lifestyle. Odds are good he has a kid out there somewhere he doesn’t know about. It is statistically impossible that Domino hasn’t caught something yet and might say something about his taste in partners but he’s managed to defy odds.

Doesn’t think things through – Domino is very bad about leaping before looking or doing something without thinking of the consequences. This most happens with sex, but he’s also frequently said something before stopping to think about it first (foot and mouth are well acquainted.). Many times this is brushed off as part of his charm, but it has been known to have some physical consequences. This is something he works constantly to fight against when he sees humans being mistreated and has more than once put his undercover status at risk.

History
Born into a world at war, Domino was the third child of Crispin Jacobs and Alice Lewis. Soon after Domino was born Crispin left his family without a word. Alice soon moved her children out of Chicago to her mothers farm in a small town in Illinois that doesn’t exist anymore. It was there she met her mothers farmhand Taylor Maddox and fell in love. She and Taylor were married less than a year later and over the next few years introduced two more daughters into their little clan.

Their family tried to keep it’s head down and stay clear of the war. This worked for a few years, but eventually the Mutopian military came calling and took most of their stores. This was about the time that Domino was 16 and had come into his powers years earlier. It wasn’t too much of a surprise because his older sisters had also developed gifts which his human mother took to mean Crispin must have been a mutant. Domino had loved to shift into a large cat, like a cheetah or mountain lion, and run around the farm. But when the military stripped their farm of everything he found himself drafted by the Lt. that was in charge. The enlistment was posed as more a threat to protect his human mother. He agreed, making her promise to head west. Domino packed his bag and started to follow the soldiers when Taylor tried to stop him, begging his son to stay with the family. A soldier showed everyone that day how the Mutopian Military handled humans who talked back and subsequently beat and then shot the man. Dom cried the entire way to the army base.

Domino served in the Mutopian Military as a Sgt. for the following four years. He was given a lot of ‘in the field’ training and did his best to follow orders, even those he disagreed with. He saw a lot of horrible things in those four years and once the war ended he put in his request to leave, as many forcefully enlisted did. His request was granted and he headed west. Domino found himself in Boulder and stopped to take a break. His registered status and military history (on the ‘right’ side) meant it was easy to gain access to the city.

He spent almost a year living on the streets (or abandoned houses), until one day he was given a generous ration card as a tip for a song. After his ‘set’ the person stuck around and started up a conversation. Eventually they moved things to The Bar and chatted about nothing, mostly old songs and life before the wall. The older man offered to share with Domino other songs and over the following months he kept his word. Every three days he’d listen to Dom perform and give him a tip and they’d go talk. Domino eventually opened up about his time serving and the way he hated himself for some of the things he’d done.

After one night the man invited Domino to his place. Dom assumed the man needed some company and that the night was going to get intimate (which he was ok with), but instead the man introduced him to a woman who was part of the Resistance. The two of them spoke a long time about Dom’s feeling about how Mutopia handled humans and how he could help the Resistance. It didn’t take much for him to agree to the assignment she had, just so long as her people helped find his family.

And that is how Domino ended up being a house cat to three important families in Boulder. He was given three targets and through cunning and a bit of deceit he managed to get ‘adopted’ by each family. With each family he did his best to bond with the family members who would keep him around and also created a pattern of vanishing for long lengths of time. This expectation that sometimes the cat would wander would allow him to report in, not be a cat 24/7 and call three families home without a search party every time he went away. He uses his position to get information about the GSO, RAA and WSRG as each of the three families he infiltrated had connection to each of those organizations.
